LenderClose team members come from many different backgrounds and constantly find ways to spark greatness. The Team Member Spotlight series highlights one of our team members each month. This month, the spotlight is on Anna Gass, Lead Engineer in technology, who has been at LenderClose since October 2020.
If you could write your own job title that best describes what you do here, what would it be and why?
I’d call myself a “Problem Solver.” From brainstorming and implementing solutions to customer problems, to helping other teams learn more about the LenderClose software system, all I do is tackle obstacles.
What is something lenders/lending industry have to deal with that you want to fix?
I strive to provide lenders with intuitive, reliable software so they can optimize their lending experience for their customers.
What credentials/past experience prepared you for working in your position?
I have spent the last five years building software for financial services companies. Additionally, I have built websites that help people enroll in insurance benefits, as well provided data and analytics teams APIs that help other applications access their machine learning models. Most recently at LenderClose, I have been a part of implementing our Borrower Portal solution.
What do you enjoy about the work you do?
I love that there is always something new to learn. One day it might be about a new software design pattern, the next it could be about a facet of our clients’ process. It keeps my job interesting and challenging.
What hobbies, volunteering or passion projects do you do outside of work?
Outside of work, I use my tech skills to volunteer with dsmHack and Tech Journey. When I am not volunteering, I am dancing with Iowa Dance Theater, which performs several shows throughout the year in Des Moines and surrounding areas.
