How many times is each signer allowed to authenticate if the signer failed the validation and/or the authentication process?
This rule varies depending on the State the notary public is commissioned in and physically in . Each state may have different requirements. Most States permit a signer a total of 2 attempts in a 24-hour period. Signer(s) must also answer 4 out of 5 Knowledge-based authentication questions correctly within a 2 minute period.
If the signer fails the initial two attempts, some States allow additional attempts.
